Delta Sky Club Minneapolis: Serve Yourself

The Delta Sky Club Minneapolis Lounge Review is part of the Trip Report Athens Marathon: The Original Course which includes the following cities:

“Where is the bar?” I asked the check-in hostess. She directed me to go to the back of the lounge where to my surprise I found two things: 1) A decent selection of alcoholic beverages 2) no bartender.

I was expecting more from this lounge because Minneapolis is a hub for Delta. Compared to the Atlanta Sky Lounge which is one of the best lounges I have visited, this one was average.

The crowded bar area was overwhelmed with guests who are granted admission either because they are flying business or because they have an Amex Platinum card. The food offering was typical finger food that nobody really wants to eat but overloads on because it is free. The seating area is decent enough with large TVs and comfortable couches.

Still, after all the lounges I have seen and after all the nonsense Delta has put us through, I expected much more.

*To be fair, I found out that there is another Delta Sky Club at this airport that comes equipped with a bartender.

  1. It appears you are a needy person based on you cannot pour your own drink.. I am from MSP and find this Sky Club (C Concourse) to be one of the best in the US. Where else can you serve yourself the correct amount of alcohol/ mixers in a club without the wait and tipping the bartenders.
This cub has a nice fireplace and nice expanse views of the runways/airports. Despite your beliefs about the finger food in this club; believe me they are all the same in every Sky Club. Go ahead and deal with the attitudes in the Atlanta Sky Clubs and when you return to MSP you will understand what you were missing here!

    • Oh Snowball, your assessment is off base in so many ways: 1) I did pour my own drink as you can see from the picture, a proprietary Bloody Mary. I believe that makes me self-reliant. 2) I’ve been to Atlanta as I wrote above and rather enjoyed it. 3) Justifying the bad food as accessible simply because all Delta lounges/US domestic lounges have bad food doesn’t make it any better. 4) Stay tuned for my DTW lounge review, my hometown, where I will write the same thing. (or don’t since I just gave it away.)
