Cards to churn.
I don’t know how you chose to spend your Friday night but I spent mine hitting the churn pipe. It started off with a Barclays AA Aviator app and approval which was followed by an Alaska personal and business pending result. On tilt, I went to OMAAT’s Best Credit Card Offers (TPOL is too poor to have credit card affiliate links, support him in other ways) and scanned the list. At the very bottom there was an offer for the LifeMiles card which apparently gives 60k LifeMiles using the promo code AVSPWE at the time of application. I had this card with US Bank and used the points to fly business class on SQ from Shanghai to Bali. I know that US Bank is tough as nails when it comes to credit card approvals which is why I was happy to discover that it’s actually a foreign bank that provides the card. After many security questions, I was approved and should receive my card and the $149 annual fee in the coming weeks.
Without MS, my balances were getting a little shaky. With these two cards, I think I can pull off a few more trips before getting anxious again.
My wife and I got that card and right now we have a problem as there is supposed to be a %15 discount on purchasing miles but the bank says call LifeMiles and LifeMiles says call the bank! So far the charge is pending so I have hopes it will be cut down by 15%.
SQ? Really? I heard they only give awards to KrisFlyer members. So far I haven’t seen any awards on LifeMiles site.
Yeah that was in 2014. And no one will ever or has ever claimed that Avianca has great customer service. At least now you can book flights across multiple cabins. Before they didn’t have voluntary downgrade.
Definitely considering this one. How onerous is the booking process? 60K miles with just 1 purchase sounds great, but hopefully I don’t need to be a Samuel L Jackson-type negotiator to use the miles.

Thanks, man. Just got approved after questions and income verification. Thoughts on Vida Visa Card? Only 20k miles but 1) may be 40 after same promo code and 2) it’s still 20k after first use and only $59.
They got me on my back like a turtle with these annual fees.

I hear you – I’m slightly over because of these premium cards. Prestige is getting the Ax right before all the negative changes.
