The Franschhoek Cost Breakdown is part of the South America & Africa Points Heist Trip Report.
I’ve gone on and on about how much I enjoyed Franschhoek and how I indulged in the luxury lifestyle. It came at a price and luckily for fellow lovers of life, it was not that steep.
Here’s the breakdown for two people:
Transport
Uber from Cape Town: $40.70
Uber to Anthonij Rupert: $6.84
Uber to Leopard’s Leap: $3.32
Uber to Simonsig Vineyard in Stellenbosch from Franschhoek: $18.24
Uber from Stellenbosch to Cape Town: $24.93
Total: $94.03
Vineyards
Rupert Tasting And Bottles: $134.16
Le Lude Tasting: $31.39
Leopard’s Leap Tasting: $23.91
Total: $189.46
Food
Le Bon Vivant: $112.52
Simonsig Vineyard: $55.02
Total: $167.54
Car Museum
Franschhoek Car Museum: $11.28
Grand Total: $462.31
Less than $500 for the best of everything is a better value than a first class flight on points!
Will this trip report EVER end?
Seriously, I’m sick of it! Here’s what is left:
Westin Cape Town
Ripoff Shark
Bidvest Lounge
Grillhouse JNB
Virgin Lounge JNB
Virgin to LHR
Clubhouse LHR
LHR to SFO
Hyatt Centric SF
Pho SF
I think I’ll kill myself now.
The quality hasn’t gone down so I don’t recommend you do that. 40 day vacations are too long. Tomorrow’s shark post is killer, get it?
Ripoff shark? FCQ wants to go shark diving, so we look forward to your review.
Publishing tomorrow afternoon.
$190 for wine?
Most of that was the bottled of Rupert Blend, found here: http://thepointsoflife.boardingarea.com/rupert-wines-franschhoek-must-drink-wine-enthusiasts/
Hi TPOL. Planning on hermanus trip in sep from cpt. How easy it is to just grab uber instead of self drive from cpt to hermanus. Stay the night, do whale watching cruise and grab uber back.
Good luck getting an uber back! #amateurhour
Why the rudeness Ken? Just say it’s not a good idea if that’s the case. #banned
@mpt I have no idea on that .
