I once asked the question, “How long is too long at the lounge?” Personally, I like to get there as early as possible and take my time drinking, eating, and mingling. Before my SQ flight to Moscow, I arrived at the Amex Centurion Lounge in Houston hours before my flight, excited for what may be the best airline in the world in terms of service.
The Decor
Amex does a great job in decorating the lounges. They feel like a bar lounge more than an airport lounge.
The Size
Many Centurion Lounges are tiny, por ejemplo, Miami. The one in Houston was large in comparison. There were plenty of places to sit, eat, drink. There was even a points meetup conference area.
The Drinks
In my experience, the best Centurion lounges for drinks are LGA and LVS. If there is a best, then there has to be the worst. To date, the worst was Centurion Houston. My sensitive palette could not comprehend what I was drinking. Drinks like Desert Oasis and Chinese New Year were not the celebration I thought they would be. Having said that, I still sampled most of them.
The Food
Where is the LAS chicken? Actually, I’m happy they did not have it here. They had fried chicken which like the rest of the food was bland. 算了
The TV
Why have an HD TV that does not broadcast in HD? Luckily, it was just the Buckeyes game so I didn’t care to watch.
Overall
This wasn’t the greatest lounge experience in terms of food and drinks but it got the job done. Wheels up to Moscow!
Did anyone (lounge staff or passenger) object when you take a picture at lounge?. Do you use a regular camera or you use a phone camera to take the pictures at lounge.
Samsung s7. Nobody objected but I know that happens.
I’m used to the awkwardness of taking pics of lettuce
What do you do when some one objects, you just move away to other area to photograph ?
i go up to them and ask if they’d like to have a selfie together as I’m famous!
That was a joke. I try not to take pics with people in it because I feel creepy. Actually at the priority pass lounge in gatwick, i was told to erase my photos of the lounge. http://thepointsoflife.boardingarea.com/no-1-lounge-gatwick-review/
