By Bus: Nice to Cannes

By Bus Nice to Cannes is part of the Still The Best Trip Report.

I finally made it to Nice after missing my previous flight (see Finally Arrived). I assumed there would be a direct train from the airport to Cannes. I was slightly surprised to find that no direct train links both. The best option is to take the bus. To do so, catch the tram from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. You can then buy the bus ticket using the app or on the website for 19 euros, the only bargain in the South of France.

TPOL’s Tip: Definitely take the bus over Uber if the bus is available. Traffic is avoided in the bus lane.

  1. There 100% is a train linking Nice to Cannes. Both regional trains and the TGV run this route providing a departure every 20-30 minutes. It boards at Nice-Ville station and takes about 40 minutes to travel to Cannes station.

  2. Non-stop train? No. But just as many stops as you had for less than half the price. Tram to grand arénas. Free. Transfer to nice saint augustin. Less than 5 mins walk. Regional train every half hour for less than 10€. Train ride itself only 25 mins. Seems like you were stymied by using Google maps? Better to use a more reliable transit app.

    • How is that convenient? I would never do that, nor would I recommend it. And no, not Google Maps, a rec from a friend who had arrived days before.
