I used my Air France points to book my flight from Nairobi to Zanzibar aboard Kenya Airways. It was 7,500 points plus $50. While it wasn’t the best use of points, if you factor avoiding the terrible airport in Dar es Salaam and not having to pay $200, it’s a good deal. The flight leaves at midnight and arrives an hour later. Unlike my terrible mid-haul flight from JNB to ADD on Ethiopian Airlines, this one had a personal television. I’m always impressed that foreign carriers provide a snack even on the shortest flights.
