The Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge is a lounge that does not receive enough attention in the points world. This is the second time I have had the pleasure of going to the lounge in KL airport. The first time was a part of my $77,000 Trip Heard Round The World.
And let me tell you, it is pretty damn good this time around.
The Soup
I love soup. I, as many of you know, love pho. At the Golden Lounge, there is a chef that prepares two different styles of soup. One is traditional Malay soup and the other was wonton soup. As the fat man in the lounge, I had to sample both.
The Breakfast
The standard buffet was nothing great apart from the hash browns.
The Seating Area
There’s plenty of places to sit whether it be in the dining area or by the bar.
Overall
If you’re looking for a nice place to relax while you wait for your inter-Asia flight, check out the Golden Lounge.
Is it first class only or business as well? Also, I’m unfamiliar with Malay soup, but I don’t see any wontons in either soup. The bottom one looks more broth based, but which is which?
Business. Top is Malay bottom is wonton. I’m done with pic descriptions when i blog on the go but i can see how they’d be helpful in this case
The malay soup you had is known as Laksa. Yes, I agree it is great tasting and had a bowl of it myself on Christmas day in the satellite building Golden Lounge
Thanks. I will update the post. I thought i took a pic of the sign.
