The Protea Franschhoek Hotel Review is part of the South America & Africa Points Heist Trip Report.
Getting There: I took an Uber from Cape Town. It takes about an hour to get there and cost $40 in traffic. From Stellenbosch, the town next to Franschhoek, back to Cape Town it only cost $25 but there was no traffic.
Stumbling back to the Protea Franschhoek after a day of perhaps too much wine and too much dine, I reflected on how great life was. Somehow I had ended up in this great town, intoxicated and without a care in the world. The only thing left to do was make it to my room and rest. Thankfully, the Protea Franschhoek is conveniently located in the center of this quaint town. Moments later I was in my quarters, sleeping on a comfortable king size bed.

The Protea brand is the best bargain in Africa. For 10,000 points a night, the Protea Franschhoek was no different.

Not sure I wanted the whole world to know that TPOL was staying at the hotel but the hotel definitely recognizes those with status.

If you’ve had too much wine or you need a break from tasting, relax at the pool. Since I was only there for one night, I did not have the chance to enjoy it.

The room was was big and decorated with flower paintings.

Standard Protea soaps with a standard bathroom.
The Location
The hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and vineyards.
