Zimbabwe has visa on arrival for Americans. This avoids the visa hassles I’ve discussed in the past. Flying business on South African, I was able to get to the immigration desk first. There, the officer asked if I wanted single entry or multiple. Naturally, I said multiple and was directed to counter 7. For $50 USD, I was given a Kaza Zimbabwe-Zambia visa which allowed me unfettered access between the countries. It also allowed me to visit Botswana from either country without the headache of dealing with the visa at the border checkpoint.
The tour guide was surprised that I was given the Kaza visa and asked how I knew about it. I wish I could say it was from research, but it was luck. Bottom line: if you’re going to Zimbabwe ask for Kaza.
