The Sheraton Columbus Ohio Hotel Review is part of the Trip Report: Buckeyes Wolverines 2016 which covers the following places:
Getting There: I rented a bright red car and drove from Michigan to Ohio. Michigan plates in Ohio are never a good idea if you go one over the speed limit. Luckily, I was not pulled over coming or going.
Overview
“Why would anyone from Michigan want to visit Columbus?” That’s what I thought before I visited this past spring. As the college football season progressed, it became evident that Michigan was on a collision course to face OSU for the Big Ten Championship. Sensing a dramatic conclusion to the season was inevitable, I bought tickets to the game and used my points to score a good deal at the Sheraton Columbus.
The Location
The Sheraton Columbus at Capitol Square is a few miles from OSU’s campus and the party area of Short North. That’s not necessarily a bad thing if you are a Michigan fan and your team just lost off of bad execution and questionable refereeing. Getting away from the annoying Buckeye fans who want to congratulate you on a good game was a top priority following the loss.
The Hotel Itself
The hotel looks old both from the interior and the exterior. Parking is not included. Valet is $26 a day and self-parking is $17 a day. Some worried Michigan fans paid the premium for valet because they thought their car would be better protected.
The Room
The room was a standard Sheraton room with a view of the park. I did not appreciate what appeared to be a mirror shaped like the Ohio ‘O’.
The Club Level
There was no alcohol in the club which was badly needed before the game and after. The snacks were decent. The cookies were my favorite.
Overall
If you’re looking for a decent points option while in Columbus, then the Sheraton is a good choice.
Funny how neither Michigan nor Ohio State are playing for the Big 10 championship. It was an exciting game though.
And mi beat both the ones that are. Ah well you have to handle business on the field
there’s still a chance for your boyz. of course, it would mean everything that isn’t going to happen would…
