Some people get their news from Fox, some get it from Bill Maher, and others get it from Facebook. If you’re a TPOL reader, chances are you get some of your news from BoardingArea. If that’s the case, then you have already learned the following: Starting January 1, 2018, all nights on free night awards will count toward tier status.
Here’s my take on it:
Even though the seemingly impossible 55 night requirement to obtain Globalist remains, this is a step in the right direction of repealing World of Hyatt and hopefully replacing it with a program that resembles my beloved Hyatt Gold Passport. Otherwise, it’s Festivus 2018 for Hyatt!
What Hyatt could easily do would be to allow multiple rooms to count toward status as SPG does or go back to allowing status based on stays as well as nights.
Just go back to the old days.
Does that include all points and/or free night awards (e.g. Chase card), Globalist requalify night
On my Hyatt app it shows 60 nights to globalist, where is the 55 coming from?
55 is for requalifying if you were diamond/globalist before. Might as well be 100.
Actually most of us probably got this “news” via an email from Hyatt…
