The flight from DAR to JNB was nothing too exciting. The seats were not lie flat, but unlike Ethiopian Airlines JNB-ADD, I slept just fine. After arriving in JNB, I had a few hours before my flight to Cape Town. I spent it at the SAA lounge.
The Highlights
Go for the breakfast. It’s fresh and diverse. It beats the Park Hyatt Zanzibar.
Go for the espresso: Sick of pressing the espresso button and receiving second rate coffee like at the Delta SkyClubs? You won’t have that problem here as a barista preps a fresh cup of java.
Go for the view: It’s fun to watch the planes come and go. The lounge has many seating areas to accommodate this fetish.
Overall
Isn’t it crazy how domestic lounges abroad are so much better than those in America? The SAA Domestic Lounge Johannesburg is another example of that.
