Kota Kinabalu: Island Hopping With Selfie Sticks

With only two days in KK, I contemplated what I should do. There was no time to become a certified scuba diver, so that was out. I lacked the mental focus to play a round of golf, so I scratched that idea. As a result, I decided to take the lazy way out. I would spend one day touring the beautiful islands of KK and the next going down the river to see the flora and fauna.

Kota Kinabalu: Where to Party

There's more to life than pubs, bars, and clubs. Not every place I visit has to have Shanghai nightlife. After some shenanigans in Jakarta, I was looking forward to doing nothing in KK and expected it to be a secluded, underdeveloped beach town. I was completely wrong.

Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu: The Best Deal in the Hyatt Portfolio

Where is Kota Kinabalu? I used to ask myself that every time I connected in Kuala Lumpur. Finally, I asked Google and it told me that it was a city in the Malaysia part of Borneo. Malindo Air Review: US Discount Carriers Take Note

I had one hour to make my connection when I arrived in KL. We were delayed on the runway for an hour so I was sure I would miss the connection. The flight attendant told me that when we arrived someone would be waiting for me at the gate with instructions on how to proceed.

Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge KL: Damn Good Soup

The Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge is a lounge that does not receive enough attention in the points world. This is the second time I have had the pleasure of going to the lounge in KL airport. The first time was a part of my $77,000 Trip Heard Round The World.

Malaysia Airlines: Business Class Review in SE Asia

It's hard to write about flying Malaysia Airlines without thinking about the tragedy of MH 370. Following my CNN interview, my new best friend, Richard Quest, was kind enough to send my father and sister an autographed copy of his book on the subject. Even with all the experts weighing in, the mystery remains unsolved.

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral Review

Aloft is my favorite hotel in Bangkok. It's in a great location in Seoul and my go-to airport hotel in Phoenix. While I don't recommend the Aloft Beijing, I approve of the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral if you have a stopover in KL.

Review: Malaysia Business Class Lounge

While Kuala Lumpur's International Airport is first-class, it doesn't have the soul of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi or swag of Singapore's Changi. The same can be said of Kuala Lumpur as a city. Sure, it has the Petronas Towers which are the tallest twin towers in the world but there's little else in the capital that makes it a city worth seeing.
