Australian Open: Amateurs Welcome

Australian Open is part of the TPOL Down Under Trip Report.

Are you a fan of tennis? I am not. I’ve tried but the most fun I’ve had playing tennis is on Nintendo. The key to beating level 5 is to lob it up then charge the net. Since I was in Melbourne for the qualifiers, I went to the Open to see if anyone else would employ this strategy. a blue sign with white texta sign with a clock on it

Venue

Even if you’re not a tennis fan and even if you only visit Melbourne Park during the qualifiers, the atmosphere is electric. I could imagine the top names from all around the world in one place, battling out for this major title.a building with glass windows

Qualifying

I watched a few matches and nobody was using my strategy. That’s why they are real tennis players and I am a blogger. What’s nice about an Open tournament is that a no-name can come from anywhere and win the title. Would the people I saw shock the world? Probably not, but it’s fun to imagine. a tennis court with people in the stands a tennis court with blue seats and blue roof

Overall

If you’re a tennis fan, going to all the majors is a must. I would like to go to Wimbledon because of the pomp and circumstance.
