TPOL has a Top Ten list for many things: From Shots! 7 Adventures Requiring Liquid Courage to Put Some Hot Sauce on My Burrito Baby! The World’s Best Hot Sauce, I’ve covered a lot. Now, it’s time for my favorite subject – the disco. This list includes clubs that are no longer open but, blackouts notwithstanding, have provided a lifetime of memories. When will I get too old to go to the club? No one quite knows.
Here are the best nightclubs in the world which will be updated as needed.
Canada
- Guvernment: Toronto (closed)
This place is legendary. Many memories including New Years 2001 (see Where to Party? New Year’s Eve 2016).
China
- MINT (open) Richy (closed): Shanghai (see TPOL’s Guide to A Night in Shanghai).
Shanghai is the best place for nightlife.
Colombia
- Cafe del Mar (open): Cartagena (see Guns & Butter: Cartagena Travel Guide).
If you’re looking to chill outside, listen to some light house music, and drink piña coladas.
Czech Republic
- Golden Tree (open, I hope): Prague
This rivals MINT for best club.
India
- Cabana (open): Goa
Indonesia
- Sky Garden (open): Bali
Yes it is grimy, yet it is full of wankers, but it’s definitely a fun time.
Israel
Mexico
- Palladium (open): Acapulco
Dance with the Devil!
- La Boom (closed): Cancun
South Africa
- Coco’s (open): Cape Town (see Guns & Butter: Cape Town Travel Guide).
- VIP (open): Johannesburg
Spain
- Fortuny (open): Madrid (see Madrid Party Guide: Out All Hours).
Sweden
Thailand
- Ce La Vi, formerly Ku de Ta (open): Bangkok (see Guns & Butter: Bangkok Travel Guide).
Turkey
- Reina (open): Istanbul
UAE
- Boudoir (not sure): Dubai
United States
- PCL (closed): Scottsdale
Now that the Bed Supper Club is closed, I thought Q-Bar was the best in Bangkok. Another venue where the Thais party is a street called Royal City Avenue or RCA where will hardly encounter any Farangs or free-lancers for that matter.
RCA is decent but it’s just college bars.
I should add that this post should be where everyone posts the non tourist traps worldwide.
