After sitting on a park bench at Dar airport all night, I was allowed to go inside the airport. That didn't mean I could get a ticket. The counter took another hour to open. When it finally did, I checked in, passed through security, and made my way to the lounge.
Oh wow, not I see why they restrict access to three hours here. Step aside Emirates First Class Lounge Dubai , there's a new lounge in town.
After my delightful flight from Victoria Falls, I arrived at 3PM in Johannesburg and tried to access the SAA lounge in JNB using my Ethiopian Airlines business class ticket and my SAA ticket stub from my flight to JNB from VFA.
I caught my breath after the Victoria Falls sprint and arrived way early for my flight to JNB. With nothing but time, I went to the Ethiopian Airlines lounge with my South African Airways business class ticket.
Recall the love/hate relationship that I have written about regarding Priority Pass lounges. This one is definitely going to be hate.
Priority Pass lounges and I have a love/hate relationship. I love that they are available when I need to sleep after a flight is cancelled. (see Priority Pass: Lima, Peru). I hate when the food is repulsive.
The Priority Pass Lounge in Malpensa Airport was a lifesaver. Having 4PM checkout at the Park Hyatt Milan is meaningless when your flight is at 930AM and you have to be out of the hotel by 6AM.
