What to Do in Darwin Besides Croc Hunt

What to Do in Darwin is part of the TPOL Down Under Trip Report.

What’s there to do in Darwin? I’m not to sure because I spent most of my time going into the outback (see The Road to Kakadu: Walking in Dundee’s Footsteps.) However, while I was there, I did manage walk around the city for some food and drink. It reminded me a lot of Chiang Rai, Thailand because there were plenty of backpackers.  It also reminded me of Missoula, Montana because of the hippie feel.a street with trees and buildings a red car on a street

An artist painted this picture. Apparently, it’s a super model but I’m convinced it’s Ms. TPOL.

Food
Istanbul Kebab: Get the lamb. a sign on a building a tortilla with meat and vegetables on a table

Breakfast: Both Coffee Club and The Tap have good breakfast.

Drink
Try 12 beers at Six Tanks for 40AUD. Some were winners, some were losers, the worst being the Italian.a bar with a sign and drinks a tray of beer glasses a row of glasses of beer

Skip
Pho. It’s terrible (see Pho Darwin: Worst in the World). No need to post pictures.

Stay
Unlike Chiang Rai, I recommend a hostel over a brand name. The DoubleTree was not worth the cash. I could’ve stayed at a hostel in a better location at half the price compared to the the Frontier Hotel (see Stay Local: Nak Nakara Chiang Rai vs. Stay Comfortable: Le Meridien Chiang Rai).
