Targeted: 150k Amex Platinum Biz Offer

5

I normally don’t write about targeted offers because they are targeted. However, I felt compelled to write about this Amex Platinum Business offer because it is for 150k points and, allegedly, I am eligible despite having this card years ago (see Keep Vs. Cancel: Amex Business Platinum). Back then it was 150k points after 20k spent. Today, it is 150k after 15k spent in 3 months. Back then manufactured spending wasn’t a mortal sin. Today, I sadly spend that much on who knows what. Still, I’m going to wait until early fall to apply as I have to hit the min on my Hyatt card to re-qualify for Globalist (see Becoming Hyatt Globalist Again: TPOL’s Masterpiece Strategy). I am also holding out hope that I am approved for the Chase Sapphire (see Wait, Am I Under 5/24?) and that I will be approved for additional Chase cards.

Is the churn lifestyle back?

  1. I also got the 150 K platinum offer that I’m currently using now however I am very suspicious of what’s going on at Amex. I am on my third platinum card and I still keep getting offers for biz gold and platinum with no lifetime language. Currently have another offer for 100 K for another biz platinum and then another offer on another card for 90,000 for gold biz. No lifetime language. Not sure if there’s a massive devaluation of their points coming up or the rat team is lurking. Really can’t decide if I should go for these two pending offers Re clawback

  2. We got 2x 90k Gold Biz and 2x 150k Plat Biz in the past 4 days. We both already held both of these cards. Now, I need to find a way to spend $50k, on top of the other $10k we already have to spend for other card bonuses, in the next 90 days. You really shouldn’t wait to snag these offers….

    • Why shouldn’t I wait? First, it’s says expires October. Second, since waiting the offer has gone up from 100k.

      • Could end early, especially given that the offers make no sense. I was just offered a third simultaneous business gold card for 80k for $10k. When will it end?

        • When they make up for 2020 lost revenue. 15k in 3 months of clean spending is a lot
